Care Farming Project - for People with Dementia or Mental Ill Health and Their Carers

The Connection Space Community Interest Company is running a monthly Care Farming Project for 10 months. The sessions will involve therapeutic activities that connect with nature, animals and people, to support health and wellbeing.

The sessions are facilitated by an occupational therapist, a counsellor/psychotherapist and a dedicated team of volunteers within a supportive and therapeutic environment.

  • Do you have memory difficulties or are living with dementia?

  • Are you an older adult living with mental health needs?

  • Do you enjoy being outside, with animals with animals, caring for animals, being active, being active, using your skills, learning new skills , getting involved, trying new experiences?

  • Do you have limited opportunities to; be active, participate in activities, spend time with people, animals and nature?

The project aims to:

  • Support people caring for the older adult accessing this project.

  • Provide volunteering opportunities

The project runs on the fourth Tuesday of every month 10am from until 2:30pm, with the next session being 18th December at:

Matlock Farm Park
Jaggers Lane
Near Two Dales

Light refreshments and snacks are provided.

The first group in 2019 will be on 22 January.
